BC Upgrade for 500MW Solar Panel Production Line
Release time:2026-05-12
As BC solar modules continue gaining market share, many manufacturers are upgrading traditional PV factories into a modern 500MW solar panel production line to improve efficiency, profitability, and product competitiveness. Compared with conventional TOPCon production, BC modules require higher precision, faster production rhythm, and more stable equipment coordination. Traditional module lines often struggle to meet these requirements during large-scale manufacturing.
To solve these challenges, ChinTiyan provides a dedicated BC upgrade solution centered on self-developed high-speed BC stringers and non-destructive laser cutting systems. The solution focuses on stable mass production, lower energy consumption, and higher module yield while maintaining flexible production capability.
Challenges in Upgrading a Traditional Production Line
For a large-capacity 500MW solar panel production line, production stability and equipment compatibility become critical. Many existing lines face bottlenecks in stringing and laser cutting processes, which directly affect overall production efficiency. Traditional equipment also struggles to support multiple wafer sizes and BC module structures, resulting in long changeover times and unstable yields.
At the same time, BC modules require micron-level precision and low-temperature soldering technology. Conventional systems often fail to maintain consistent welding quality during continuous mass production, increasing rework rates and maintenance pressure.
High-Speed Laser Cutting System
The upgraded laser cutting unit adopts ultra-fast non-destructive processing technology with cutting precision up to ±0.02mm and speeds reaching 600mm/s. It supports 182mm and 210mm wafers, half-cell structures, and multiple technologies including TOPCon, HJT, and BC modules.
Compared with traditional equipment, the system improves cutting efficiency by 40% while reducing cell breakage and labor demand, helping manufacturers remove one of the major bottlenecks in a 500MW solar panel production line.
High-Speed BC Stringing System
The BC stringer matrix uses infrared low-temperature soldering technology combined with intelligent vision positioning and real-time weld inspection. The system achieves stable high-speed production with excellent welding consistency and extremely low microcrack rates.
Its flexible design supports different module formats and significantly shortens product changeover time, making it suitable for large-scale mixed production environments.
Intelligent Production Optimization
The upgrade also includes intelligent lamination, online EL and IV inspection, and smart factory integration through MES and AGV systems. These improvements allow the entire production line to operate more efficiently with lower energy consumption and reduced manual intervention.
After the upgrade, manufacturers can achieve higher overall yield, lower downtime, and more stable production output while reducing long-term operating costs.
Upgrade Benefits
Compared with building a new factory, upgrading an existing 500MW solar panel production line requires lower investment while delivering faster returns. The solution is suitable for:
- Upgrading old 200MW or 300MW production lines
- Converting traditional module factories to BC production
- Expanding TOPCon or HJT lines for BC compatibility
With higher production efficiency, lower energy consumption, and improved module quality, the upgrade helps manufacturers quickly enter the growing BC solar module market and strengthen their competitive advantage.
